How to hook up a microdrive or extra flash memory

Here are directions on how to use the cargo bay P C board to run a second compact flash or to run a microdrive and a compact flash at the same time.

First you will need to make sure you have a microdrive. If your ego looks like the one on the right it has the cargo bay adaptor card. The leftmost ego does NOT have the card installed. Note the open connector.

	This shows the pcb that plugs into the connector If you do not have this card in your computer you can obtain one HERE around $10.00 each (shipping included.)
Here you see my ego with both a midro drive in the MAIN slot, and my compact flash in the cargo slot (marked TRA) This was the ONLY way my ego would properly boot and let me access BOTH of them. This is with my original Ego and the cargo adaptor it came with. I am about to obtain another bay adaptor and have been told you can run 2 compact flash chips using it. You can get it HERE
	Here is a shot taken a little closer up.
When the microdrive and compact flash are inserted as in the photo you can boot the ego and then navigate to either the A drive or B drive as you see in these photos. The ff and rewind buttons do this navigation. You must be in the root directory. To make sure you get there press the stop button until you do not see any change in the display. Then you can use the ff and rewind buttons to navigate your drives and folders.
